Common Black Hawk Buteogallus anthracinus, September 14th, 2007.
Covington Park/Big Morrongo Canyon Preserve, San Bernadino County.
First noted by Chris Rose (Birdfinders participant) passing low over Covington Park before soaring high over Big Morrongo Canyon Preserve. Soared over the preserve for about twelve minutes, drifting north towards Yucca Valley before returning and dropping down into Cottonwoods on the East Side of the preserve. Seen very well by all fifteen members of the Birdfinders tour group. Images taken during 13:18 - 13:30 hours using the 'digi-bin' method
