| Common Redpoll Carduelis flammea flammea.
| Common Redpolls first appeared in Greenlawn Cemetery, Keene on December 7th, 2003, one week ahead of the first detectable Hoary Redpolls. Up to 230 Common Redpolls
were estimated to be present in the area during this month and could be
found at about ten different sites.

Common Redpoll. Rather long billed compared to Hoary Redpoll.
|
|
|

Adult male Common Redpoll. Well marked pinkish-red breast, flank streaks and a
broad dark streak on the longest undertail covert.
|

Adult male Common Redpoll. A good view of the undertail coverts pattern.

Overall quite brownish with heavily streaked flanks and noticeably streaked undertail coverts.
